TIMUN EMAS
Long time ago, lived an old woman named Mbok Rondo. She
lived alone because her husband had long passed away and she did not have a
children. She always pray so God would give her a child. One day a giant came
and gave Mbok Rondo a big golden cucumber with contain of beatiful baby girl.
Mbok Rondo was so happy. She named the baby Timun Emas. But she must gave Timun
Emas to the giant when Timun Emas is seventeen years old.
Years passed, and Timun Emas grew to become a
beautiful girl. She was also smart and kind. Mbok Rondo loved her verymuch. A
few days later the giant came to Mbok Rondo. He wanted to took Timun Emas from
Mbok Rondo. But Mbok Rondo told Timun Emas to ran away. She gave Timun Emas a
bag with contain of cucumber seeds, needles, salt, and shrimp paste. Then Timun
Emas ran through the back door. But the giant saw Timun Emas ran to the woods.
The giant was angry and very hungry. So, he rushed Timun Emas.
The giant was got closer. Timun Emas threw the
cucumber seeds and they grew into large cucumber field. But the giant ate them.
The giant was closed, Timun Emas spilled the needles. The needles turned into
bamboo trees, sharp and thorny. The giant’s body wa scratched and bled but he
could get his self. The giant rushed Timun Emas again.
Then Timun Emas threw salt. The ground turned into a
deep sea. The giant almost drown but he could out from the water. Timun Emas
saw the giant came then she threw the shrimp paste. The shrimp paste became a
big swamp of boiling mud. The giant drown and died. After that Timun Emas went
home. And since then Timun Emas and Mbok Rondo lived happily ever after.
